If you’re driven by purpose, passionate about designing meaningful learning experiences, and motivated to build programs that empower and develop volunteers over time, this is the place for you.
Role
The Continuing Education Program Lead is a key individual contributor within the newly established Learning & Engagement function on the Community & Education team. This role will play a foundational part in shaping how continued learning is designed, delivered, and experienced across our volunteer community. You will build scalable, high-impact education programs that extend beyond core training, strengthening volunteer confidence, effectiveness, and long-term engagement while ensuring a consistently high standard of learning.
In close partnership with the Learning and Engagement Manager, you will help audit existing learning initiatives, analyze volunteer feedback and engagement data, and assess unmet learning needs. Together, you will define priorities, establish a strategic roadmap, and bring new programs to life through thoughtful program design, project management, quality assurance, and evaluation.
As the Continued Education Program Lead, you will
- Design and deliver continuing education programs that deepen volunteer skills and expand learning beyond initial onboarding and core training.
- Partner with the Learning and Engagement Manager to assess current programs, identify gaps, and co-create a strategic roadmap for continued education initiatives.
- Develop engaging, competency-aligned and microlearning content grounded in volunteer insights, performance data, and emerging community needs.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders and subject-matter experts to translate complex, sensitive, or technical topics into accessible, high-quality learning experiences.
- Facilitate and support virtual workshops, panels, and learning sessions in partnership with the Events Program Lead.
- Project and program manage learning initiatives from concept through launch, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and learning outcomes are met.
- Establish evaluation methods to measure program effectiveness, learning impact, and volunteer engagement, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Build scalable, repeatable processes that ensure consistency, accessibility, and excellence as the continued education program grows.
- Work cross-functionally with Community and Marketing to develop, message, and distribute educational courses and learning content—ensuring delivery meets volunteers where they are (e.g., community platforms, email, and other channels).
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in continuing education, learning programs, enablement, or adult education.
- Proven ability to design and deliver scalable learning experiences beyond core onboarding or training.
- Strong curriculum and content development skills aligned to defined competencies.
- Confident facilitator across virtual or cohort-based learning formats.
- Experience applying adult learning principles to create engaging, accessible programs.
- Analytical approach to evaluating learning effectiveness and iterating on offerings.
- Experience managing projects or programs end-to-end, including planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination.
- Comfortable working independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Strong collaboration skills with SMEs, Learning Design, Community, and Events partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, mental health, or volunteer-driven settings.
- Background in customer or community education (tech or SaaS a plus).
- Experience using project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Jira) to manage timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables.
- Familiarity with LMS or learning tools.
- Volunteer experience.
- Experience designing learner pathways that include certifications, CEU credits, or other credentialed learning opportunities.
