Description:KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to a principal investigator of sponsored projects.
- Exercises considerable latitude and independent judgment in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the research core.
- Serves as a consultant and provides technical expertise in scientific theory, research and methods of collection and analysis of data sets for a variety of research projects.
- Using an advanced knowledge of research methodology and techniques, provides leadership in the planning and development of survey instruments, guidelines, and procedures to collect required data.
- Coordinates various aspects of the study.
- Routinely develops research protocols.
- Reviews and edits text for studies.
- Conducts extensive literature searches and effectively summarizes reported research findings and their applicability to the research.
- Coordinates research and intervention activities with the team.
- Provides direction to consultants and team members.
- Coordinates and conducts special meetings.
- Develops and conducts presentations, represents Emory at national meetings, and co-authors publications.
- Collaborates on or authors reports and papers.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
- Directs and administers the strategic planning, development, and implementation of a large award.
- Oversees and coordinates program planning, development, and operations, acting as lead and liaison between donor partners, academic and health department partners, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Provides logistical and administrative oversight for grant and all funded activities.
- Serves as front-line representative to donor partners.
- Leads development of and submission of all grant deliverables and reports.
- Helps set goals and milestones, supports performance monitoring through regular engagement in projects.
- Manages budgets and spenddown.
- Ensures compliance with Notice of Award.
- Represents the program as needed, oversees communication efforts, and contributes to scientific publications.
- Engages with local partners and stakeholders to advance dissemination of project findings.
- Supervises (may be formal or informal) program staff.
- Performs other duties as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Sociology, Psychology or a related discipline and five or more years of research/professional experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Effective writing, analytic, presentation and organizational skills.
- Experience managing and executing multiple projects and working with senior health policy makers and executives is preferred.
- Experience conducting focus groups.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience, including supervisory and program/project management experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, superior communication and interpersonal skills
- Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Basic quantitative data management and analysis experience
- Experience administering USG grant(s)
- Experience working with or in state or city health departments
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
